A few days ago I posted the bare bones plot of my upcoming web series “The Fource”, which I am writing and playing in. Since then I have gotten a decent amount of support and kind words via twitter (twitter.com/tommyhancock). Apparently I have comments here also but I can’t get to them for some reason. But, alas, that is not why I am posting here, to complain that my comments are, to quote Freddie Prinze Jr., “Busy wiggin’.”
Today I met up with Spencer Keizer and Zach Fearless, who play Denis and Avery Pheter in “The Fource” respectively. The point of this meeting was to outline a basic plot to an episode and get specific ideas on paper that I would then turn into the first draft of script over the weekend, which went well. Another point was to do some research on how a web series is defined as a success or a flop, which also went very well. We haven’t begun filming yet and I am seriously already learning so much through research and the number of people willing to give me pointers so far. We also found another recurring character and the person to play her and honestly it is a character of which I have never come across before in a series, web or television.
Once we finished what was on the agenda for the day and then some, we did what any self-respecting web series cast/crew would do; more research. More research in this case means ordered pizza and watched The Guild and Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. As this was happening, and we were marveling in Joss Wheadons musical web (instant)classic, something came to Spencer’s mind, and he decided to point it out to us, along with challenging me personally for some reason.
“You know who I think would love the humor of our show?” spencer asked. “Conan, we should get him to produce The Fource.” He added in, jokingly.
“Hells yes!” I replied. “I should just call him up and be like, ‘ ‘Ey Conesie, wanna produce my web show? Seems like something that would be right up your alley, and hey, you’re not busy at the moment!”
Keep in mind I added that in as a joke. Conan is and always has been my favorite pop culture icon. I seriously look up to this guy so much and respect how popular he has become over the last 17+ years without a gimmick. I won’t keep going on about how much I love Conan, for this blog will become a book. I will get back to the point after adding in that I thought about it after saying it and thought, “it does sound like something Conan might like, I wish this were possible.”
Spencer came back at me with a, “You should try to contact him man, stop being a little bitch about it.”
“Maybe I will!” I said.
“If you can get a meeting with Conan to pitch the series I’ll wear a thong in an episode of the first season.”
And with that, I accepted. Now I am on a mission to contact Conan O’brien and/or his people asap! I admit I don’t exactly know how to go about doing this so any help would be grand A few episodes are done being written, we can film those as a demo for a pitch. Personally I want a producer to be someone who could put a hand in creatively and not try to take over, sounds like Cone-dogg to me!
Finally I ask, to anyone that reads this, send this blog to everyone you know, tell them to do the same. Retweet this if you follow me on twitter and get word out that I want to meet with Conan to pitch a series to him. Personally I think Conan would make a great producer in television and film. Let me and my first web series be his guinea pig!
To anyone who reads this that knows how to get a step closer to contacting Conan my twitter is http://www.twitter.com/tommyhancock or you can email me at tommyhancock23@gmail.com
Thanks a lot folks, help a man and his dream meet in the skies of Conan!!
